The mandatory Bend Home Energy Score program is set to begin on July 1st. If you’re a homeowner or agent planning to list a property for sale, it’s important to familiarize yourself with this program. Once your home meets the program’s criteria for a “Covered Building”, obtaining a Bend Home Energy Score from an authorized Home Energy Assessor is the next step. This score must then be included in your online listing materials. The Central Oregon Association of Realtors and the Multiple Listing Service of Central Oregon (MLSCO) have been actively preparing for the implementation of this program to ensure a smooth transition. Here’s what you need to know about the process:

  1. When entering a new listing, agents can easily navigate to the “Green Building Verification Type” section.
  2. There, they can select the “Home Energy Score” option.
  3. Finally, the agent will fill in the fields for the numerical score, the Green Building Registry URL, and the year of the score.

By following these steps, you ensure compliance with the Bend Home Energy Score program and provide potential buyers with essential information about a home’s energy consumption. This program aims to promote energy-conscious decisions and encourage investment in energy saving.
